Big Girl Job
Friday I found out that I got a big girl job. 9-6 mon-fri at The Carpet Shoppe as a General Staff Assistant, everyone elses bitch! I get to work with builders and doing some interior design color work which is similar to Fritz Designs work. I know I won't love it like I did Fritz, I have to dress up :( and its a sorta stuffy enviroment with lots of people much older than me but it pays really well and has a regular schedule plus somewhat relates to my degree so I am happy. I start in 1-2 weeks, after I talk to my A.O. job about when I can change my hours. I'm not fully qutting A.O. because I do love working there, planning on asking to work 10 hours a week, couple of nights a week or a single weekend day. I am looking forward to the transition and have to do some major clothing shopping to prepare!

8 months
8 months ago I lost my job. Today I started work at my new job, as a Job Coach with disabled adults. Its only PRN (per request needed) so anywhere from 0-40 hours a week. I will be working 16 hours this week, all doing training. When/if I start working with clients, it will be strange house. Nights/weekends and never a normal or regular schedule. I am so happy to have a job but already know this is only temporary and I will continue looking for a full-time office setting job with 40 hours and a 9-5 schedule.

Jobs Jobs Jobs
Just this week it seems like the "job gods" are on my side. I had 3 calls about jobs yesterday, 1 of them was a pyramid scheme to buy gold, 1 was from a stupid guy & another was for a job I'm very interested in. The stupid guy conversation went something like this:
Tell me about your experience: I did some marketing and sales for my most recent job.
What did you earn there: I worked part time, and was paid $7-8/hr.
Why are you looking for a new job: I was laid off
What are your estimated earnings for this year: I'm currently unemployed.
When are you avaliable to start: Immediatly, i'm unemployed (at this point I realize he is obviously reading off a script & not listening to my answers)
He than invited me to attend a meeting & interview in OVERLAND PARK, I than had to explain that I'm not interested in a 4 hour drive for a possible job interview.
So today I got an interview to be a Job Coach for Adults with disabilities, I worked for a similar company while in College and actually enjoyed it. They just called me for a 2nd interview and I'm pretty excited about it. The only problem is my "dream" job working as a project developer for O'Reilly hasn't even finished looking through resumes yet so while part of me would LOVE this job that I have a 2nd interview for tomorrow, the other part of me would much rather work at O'Reillys but don't know if I'll even get an interview...

What If?
I've been watching a lot of "The Game" on BET lately, its on at 10am & 3pm incase anyone was interested. I've also caught up on the entire 3rd season on www.casttv.com. So on an episode earlier today they were talking about What Ifs? It started with "what if i never get to play football again?" and ended with "what if i go into labor right now and the baby is really an alien" it made me realize that "what if" game can really go anywhere and wondering "what if" doesn't get you anywhere in life. What if I never find a job? (a true possibility at this point) What if I get sick? (with a $10,000 deductible on my health insurance I would be SCREWED) etc. etc. etc. Wondering about all of lifes possibilities can't and won't change anything about what happens in life. I applied for what I thought was my "dream" job on Friday afternoon, a Real Estate CADD Developer for O'Reilly Auto Parts, I was so qualified for it (the first job that I've WANTED to do & been qualified for) since August. I just knew on Monday morning they were going to call me for an Interview, I stayed up all night Sunday just imagining them calling me and telling me how much they wanted to meet me, I knew I was perfect for the job and was willing to even take the job for minimum wage, a job is better than nothing right?? So on Monday I got a phone call, I was super stoaked for it...it was a Springfield phone number...it was Jenny Craig, they wanted me to come interview for a Weight Management Consultant. It literally does pay minimum wage but I went in this morning to interview anyways because "a job is a job" and I'm desperate at this point, I'll find out next week if I get a 2nd interview. Since July 17, 2009 I have applied for 163 interviews, had 4 interviews & received a lot of rejection postcards & e-mails. However a lot of them haven't contacted me which sort of frustrates me but I know that Blake said they recently had 190 some applicants in 2 days for a position at his job. In the last week I have gotten 2 phone calls sort of wanting an interview, 1 of them was for minimal salary and I turned it down but now regret it because I could have used any job, the other one was needing me to have 6 more classes of psychology :( It was a job that I would have really wanted to do. What if?

Blogs Make Money?
I have currently started following a blog "Money Saving Moms" I know lame because I don't have any kids but she puts together deals from stores ie. CVS that with the use of coupons you can get free stuff. I started getting really into it. I just bought 2 battery operated toothbrushes and a tube of toothpaste ($16 value) for $3.92 plus I got $16 in credit to use at CVS later on. It's a pretty awesome deal when you stop to think about it and I (lamely) loved the thrill. So I was reading more of ther stories instead of just the deals. She has a blog and makes a "full-time" salary just blogging everyday. I'm impressed because honestly I can't even imagine getting paid to just write a blog about something you enjoy everyday. Does anyone want to pay me to read my blog?

Light at the End of the Tunnel?
I am beginning to feel that anyone who wants to remodel is CRAZY! We started the remodel in mid-September and still are not completely done. It's going extremely slow AND the list keeps getting longer.
- ripped out all old carpet & granite flooring
- ripped out cabinets in kitchen & bathrooms (2)
- put in all new hardwood flooring & tile (in bathrooms & laundry) no floors are more than 3 yrs old now
- put in new cabinets in kitchen, baths & laundry
- backsplash tile in kitchen
- removed, refinished & reinstalled all trim
- replaced all door knobs
- texturized & repainted wood paneling in living room (all walls have also been painted)
- got new living room furniture as well as having new curtains made!!!
The list seemed a lot longer in my head, maybe because it took so long to complete & it seemed like every little detail went wrong. It also seemed like that was all I wanted to accomplish but that was 6 months ago. Now my list of things I want to complete is growing and has almost filled up an entire sheet of computer paper, taped to my computer desk as a reminder of how much I want to complete. On the top of my list:
- repaint fireplace front
- refinish bookshelf doors & install new hardware to match
- install a ceiling fans in living room & 3 bedrooms
- wash entire exterior siding
- LANDSCAPING

She's Back!! *thinking Eminem music*
I'm going to start blogging again. I have been outta work, and bored on facebook for too long to not do something "constructive" with my time. I am stuck in a major rut of watching the same shows all day long, and realized last week that my tv is on almost 21 hours a day... Time for self-betterment ASAP.
